May - Asian Heritage Month Festival

May is Asian Heritage Month Festival at Silk Purse. An exciting array of activities from visual art exhibitions, concerts and programs designed to bring the community closer to Japanese and Chinese culture. Exhibitions, concerts featuring traditional Japanese and Chinese instrumentation and opera arias, to sushi making demos, a traditional tea ceremony and more. Programs for kids included banraku puppetry & origami. 33 artists of Asian descent participated in visual arts exhibits, musical performances and workshops.
